Hello Kind People of the Internet,
I have 3 reel-to-reel audio tapes from NASA, each perhaps 4 to 15 minutes long.
-Apollo 12, NASA Special Report #59
-Apollo 12, The Space Story #319
-Apollo 4, The Space Story #208

I attempted to attach a picture of the 3 tapes to this post.

Could anyone suggest where I could perhaps send these?
...I'm not asking for any reimbursement, and will be happy to pay the postage...I just don't want to throw these away, if they have any value.

I suspect these broadcasts might already be available from NASA, but who knows? If so, then I'll just throw these 3 tapes away.

In any event please let me know if anyone would want the tapes, for academic purposes only,...I would sure feel bad if these showed up on E-Bay after the fact.

Thanks in advance

Hi Forrest A Horner and Mr K.

If the Archive does not have time to do the digitizing, one of the Toasters can digitize any tape format media. We have several will maintained machines and the collections quality speaks for itself.

And thanks again Harry.

Salut, M. Horner; don't you dare throw them away! I'm hoping to get someone with reel-to-reel skills to take them, so that they can be digitized and added to Internet Archive's Old Time Radio collection. They would certainly be something that we don't have in there yet, and fifty years old would make them qualify as 'Old-Time'.

In case you're new to The Archive, this is the OTR section that I'm talking about:

I, or someone like me, will reply to your post once we know if the mission is a go. Meanwhile, good luck with the French lessons.

Hello again, Mr. Horner. Just so you know, the BNRToast who replied here is the person that I was talking about. They have much experience with digitizing old tapes and teasing the best possible sound quality out of them.

BNRToast has been doing this for quite a while on Internet Archive, mostly with open-reel tapes of old Bob & Ray episodes. Here is their collection of Bob & Ray, all reclaimed from old reel-to-reels:

And here's their contact email. Replace the (at) with the @ sign, and the (dot) with a dot; you know the routine:

bnrtoast(at)aol(dot)com

Thanks again for your offer!
